WISHLIST.
My wishlist for this year’s birthday:
- The iPhone
I gotta have that thing. Call me geek, nerd or whatever. But since I have to live the fifth week without my own internet connection and just a phone and the obligatory internet-cafe as a substitute, I get really weird. - A lifelong budget for Spreadshirt
To produce hundreds of freaky Shirts. Like that one, this one and other stuff. - The Neuromancer graphic novel
Just for principle. And because I’m curious beyond remedy. - A steam-punk-lamp
And not just some steam-punky-looking lamp. The ultimate one. - Fish.
Because they got some, too. - A new home.
For not being forced to drive nearly half an our by bike through unlit woods. A torch could be a valuable alternative, anyways. - That hat.
A madhatter needs a hat, am I right?

Really readable. An ode against copyright.
Ouch.
Today I learned an important lesson. I now can claim to know how it looks inside an abattoir, that is a butcher’s shop.
The main problem is, that I tend to go bare foot in summer time. Sort of a spleen. One of dozens, in fact. Well. However, it turned out that a bottle of water spreading itself over the kitchen’s floor can be a veritable source of adventurousness. Especially if you’re doing a stunt that consists of a half turned jump backwards and the attempt to keep standing two centimetres above the ground. Which is because it’s covered with friendly glittering pieces of glass that would look wonderfully surrealistic on the terracotta tiles. Which they don’t.
The rest of the film shows a figure swearing on the upper end of the decibel scale and trying to stop the blood dripping from his right toe. Yeap. And a kitchen that looked like a butcher’s shop.
ALCOHOL.
Since the whole republic started arguing about the question if consuming alcohol at a so called “flat-rate” the question tormented even my tired out thoughts.
While I am writing I’m actually sitting inside an overheated train with four specimen of sort sitting in front of me, with them their inevitable bottle of them. Talking and quarreling and posing of quite as much as the bunch of chicks on the opposing side of the waggon. One is even doing some movement that apparently are meant to look like table-dancing. But what they really miss is some thrill. Some exhilarating border-line experience. Like you get it on a trip. Right on LSD, or smoking nice little pipe of dope. Having dreams. Taking some hash. But drugs are illegal.
Society not only prohibited the use of drugs it also consented on drugs, hard drugs, being evil. And don’t never be evil. Since drugs can destroy a man’s existence they are the only real threat to our society that ain’t a product of society itself. If you think about it is the utmost ban a democratic society could spell. A ban that includes nearly the whole society.
Unfortunately it leaves out the group took drugs as the last chance to reach a little freedom and get rid of such bans. To provoke a small amount of anarchy. Just to have the option to return and accept that rules also grant facilities.
In ancient times those guys that left the train one minute ago went waltzing Matilda.Or they went into war. Sought the Holy Grail. Fought Saxons and freed Jerusalem. They took the eternal quest to fight the evil and do some good. Or meant to do. Which they can’t anymore because the grail is lost forever, wars seldom threaten this part of the world and the Foreign Legion nowadays isn’t very popular.
Drugs on the other hand were a marvelous alternative to the art of throwing stones at policemen. Or building a street guerilla. They were quite an easy peasy way to oppose the bad machine a little bit and feel good at the same time. Plus you could buy them. Learning to throw stones is much harder. You still can’t buy courage.
Now drugs aren’t only illegal. They are immoral. Alcohol on the other hand is quite normal. And it’s even less expensive. Got it?
HEAT.
I’m really keen too get behind the question why the BVG heats the trains at 25°C outside temperature. Large capacity saunas.

MOBLOG: RE:PUBLICA 07
1 PM well. After forcing my cell to use opera i can finally do some moblogging. The panel on citizen journalism was a little bit confuse. At least I got no final notion what cj is. Now I learn how to plan a conference using pentabarf. The CCC sends viruses.
2 PM well I’m now changing over to the workshop on fair trade computers. Maybe the green part of my communistic self need some satisfaction ;o)
2.40 PM Seems like I have to trademark ‘therabbitshole’. Since German courts take no respect on the funktion of top level domains. Fine.
4 PM Well. Now I am now seriously frightened. I participated at the workshop about data privacy in Web 2.0 and… I will end my long-lasting relation to Google. Sometime. Ahm. But the insight that nearly no one thinks about the social consequences of illegal data storage and data mining frightened me even more. We discussed about half an hour about the question how to avoid that your personal data is stored by a company or by the state. And no one was tempted to ask the question to what society such a behavior leads. Streamlined, unindivdualized and paranoid. And that’s what they already were. No offence meant [grin.]
5.20 PM Wuaaah. I hardly managed to escape the horrifying perspective to become a demonstration organisator. Against data retention. I mean – well it’s very interesting to discuss the topic. But I did not want to organize a demo for Thursday. Not again. I spent the last year on organizing and writing about demos. The writing shall go on. But please leave me alone with organizing. However, I’ll now shuffle to the Blog lecture. I need some culture.
7 PM The lecture was good. Really good. Especially the famous MC. But Rose did hers, too. Yeap. Nothing to say more. Go and see them live. They are on tour. The final event was also OK. But you could see that Jonny was, under a heavy layer of entertaining friendlyness, quite upset about some comments. Especially about those that stated that the re:publica is an event for the avantgarde for bloggers. Which it is. But I don’t think that something is wrong with that. An avantgarde has the right to see themself as one as long as they can reflect about the question, why they are an avantgarde. And as long as they try to stay one.
Enough philosophy. Let’s have a drink. In the company rooms of Spreeblick. Free beer. I love it.

stuffing poetry into an atari. ol’ media rules.
RE:PUBLICA.
re:publica is well on the run right now, the weather is far better than before and me? I got to work. That’s the other side of the story. The story that I got faster a job than my enrolment at university. Universities. Something forces my thoughts to the insight that this is just another term for bureaucracy. Something. Maybe it’s just the fact, that They don’t know what you gotta have but will always know beforehand, that you won’t have it. I love it. Omniscience rules. Especially at a university’s administration.
Well. Nevertheless, on Friday I will finally grasp my chance an do it. I’ll go to nice re:publica. At least someone has to blog about this ‘national’ internet-event using an internationallanguage. Unfortunately I never learned Esperanto.
I think I’ll visit Cityblogs and Citizen Journalism, the Pentabarf System for Conference Planing, From Sender to Reciever and Metaverses. A historical and contemporary overview. In-between I’ll run around and shot dirty analogue photos which hopefully will be online one week later.
PS: The big hairy monster which is really nasty is also there.
